@Meatbag, Well, to each their own.
Your question was already partly answered, not directly though. For both cases, you'll need Virtual MIDI Synth and/or VIMI Driver for VSTs as both QWS and CMK use purely MIDI and can't interpret soundfonts or VSTIs by themselves.
Once you've got those, they'll show up as MIDI ports in your respective program and you'll be able to choose them, they'll play whatever they're configured to in their Windows programs.
Now you also need to actually find soundfonts and VSTIs.
