Re: Social media boot camp

Twitter is probably the easiest to become familiar with. Facebook is in the middle depending on what platform you use, an Instagram is, well, Instagram. More usable than not, although there are some hurtles to get through. If you have a planned budget for this position, would you possibly be interested in a comprehensive social media course? This could come in handy especially with Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat if the organization uses that as well. If you are interested, then have a look. It's the first listed course on the page. If you're after a comprehensive guide, this is where it's at. Especially if you are on a tight timeline and need to learn this stuff quickly, this is where you'll have all the information from an accessible point of view in one place.
Just a heads up, Facebook and Instagram don't really have native clients on Windows. Their Windows Store apps are really just web-wrappers. Twitter's about the only social network that has both accessible and mainstream clients on Windows, such as TW Blue and Tween, as well as the much loved Twitterrific on IOS. Twitter is also undergoing a fundimental change in the form of an api revival, so you might be able to once again use these native clients and get a real-time stream of Twitter circa 2014-2018, unlike now where it is a delayed manual interval-based rest-api. This also means that there may be rule changes, for better or for worse, for post automation in social media bridges like Buffer. Inconsistencies in Twitter's and Instagram's post automation rules made it a pain to manage in one of my jobs as I ultimately had to set up the communications person's push notifications so that they would get notified when a scheduled Instagram post was supposed to roll out, and they would have to push it out manually whereas Twitter mercifully allowed the process to be automated.
