Re: Android TV recommendations/experiences
Well, I'm throughly confused now. What devices actually run Android as opposed to a truly custom OS? I know Amazon Fire OS is runing a modified version of Android, because I've used a Fire TV Stick. I was able to enable ADB Debugging and apps from unknown sources in order to install apk files from my computer.
Honestly, I recommend getting a Fire TV, Fire TV Stick, or any of the standalone TVs with Fire OS built-in. I don't understand the craze over full smart TVs when you can get a streaming dongle that's cheaper and much easier to replace in the future. Just pair it with a regular TV. You can use your TV for years and years without worrying that it will become obsolete due to lack of software support.
