Re: a small concern about the public record of disciplinary action

Three things.

First off, at this point I am convinced that Simter will simply move the goal posts wherever it suits him in order to justify whatever his hobby horse is at any given moment. He has not yet responded with anything approaching rationality to several challenges to provide legitimate objections to what's going on. I don't know if language is in the way, or if he's just being trollish and knows exactly what he's doing, or if he really believes half of the half-baked crud he's talking about in situations like this, but basically until I get more info I can work with, I'm going to just ignore him, and I recommend the rest of you do likewise. It's that whole thing about further argument lending legitimacy to an otherwise baseless platform.
The other thing I want to point out here is that the community failure clause can't just be invoked by one person. Jack, Dgleks and I all agreed that the 365-day ban would be what came into effect if Deathstar got a third warning. This was not Jack's decision alone, not by any stretch of the imagination. If I'm not much mistaken, it says in our staff protocol section that if we're going to invoke the community failure clause on someone, we're going for a staff majority including at least one admin. Given that there are three admins and two mods, and given that both mods and one admin supported the notion, that was more than enough. To be clear here, we acted once we had the requisite backing; if we had waited for everyone to chime in even after securing the necessary voting qualifications for invocation of the community failure clause, we might very well have had a unanimous decision, so please don't try and argue that this was done against protocol or too hastily. This wasn't a railroad job, folks. Deathstar pushed and nibbled and insinuated, and she was told that if she kept up what she was doing, she would face consequences. She kept going. We responded. And that's really the end of it.

Third and last, for the lazy among you, I'll drag up Deathstar's warnings. Three minutes of looking in the punishment thread would have provided you this info, of course, but at this point all of your plausible deniability is straight out the window.

If you'd taken even three minutes to investigate this, Simter, you would have seen that Jack took issue with Deathstar challenging Tunmi's grief (basically, this was Deathstar apparently doubling down instead of getting the message the first time). Jack did not expressly say "this is your third warning", but I trust it's clear to most people that a warning was exactly what he was doing, considering he made it clear that he was acting as a moderator and not just challenging Deathstar as a user.
So yeah. Three warnings. All documented. I found and provided those specific post links in about four minutes. If I wanted to dredge up specifically what got Deathstar banned, it would take me another four or five minutes.
Now seriously, cut out the bad-faith stuff. Your reputation is already trashed; don't make it worse.
