Yes, compared to Renoir, Tiger Lake isn't that impressive, especially when you consider that the stats given by Intel where 11th gen CPU's can equal and even surpass the newest Risen models were very misleading.
They tested the Intel CPU's at maximum power draw, while the AMD processors were still at average. When compared on equal ground, the Intel still flags behind significantly.
The reason I mentioned 11th gen was simply because it's still allot easier to find laptops that are desirable for other reasons (repairability, warranty support, durability, specific components like DDR4X and optane memory ETC) than it is to sift through the much smaller selection of laptops using up to date Risen processors.
I hope that changes though...
Also I would be pretty surprised if they didn't come out with hexacore and octacore versions in the next quarter after the quadcore ones launched... So unless you saw something I didn't, I wouldn't bank on Tiger Lake only getting 4 cores.
