First, it's Tor, not tour.
Second, Tor isn't the gateway to the wild wild west fraught with red rooms and hit sights that youtube and creepypasta claim it is, for the fascination of the uninformed like my 12 year-old self.
In fact, the vast majority of the sites you'll come across are activism and security related. A number of clearnet sites actively share their mirrors for those folks or just anyone concerned with protecting their anonymity. That is what holds everyone together, after all.
Not to say nothing illegal happens there... It does. And if you're wanting to find it you will, but you're talking about a small subset really. Saying the onion router is filled with creepypasta like situations is kinda saying the internet is a hotbed for sex and pornography. If you want to read content from individuals living under oppressive regimes sharing their stories, have at it. If you want a history lesson, have at it. If you want to be blown away with radical opinions, have at it.
If the darknet can be said to have anything in high quantities it's diversity, and for good reason.
Which brings me to my next point. The same mentality that says no one knows who you really are presents the classic moral what you do when no one is watching question. Combine with diversity and you get blotches of serious extremism. Take everything you see with a grain of salt. Please do your research beforehand. There is plenty of misinformation to be found about the darknet, mostly because people realized they could get cheap clicks and subscriptions that way.
