Re: If you were president, what would you do first?

@9: That is inconveniencing a majority to please a tiny minority however. If CAPTCHAs arre not a thing, enjoy the spam /everywhere/ spambot makers will flock to, without safeguards in place there isn't much to stop them. Though given machine learning, you could argue they are not foolproof, but there /are/ accessible captchas. The answer is not to eliminate everything inaccessible, like you seem to think geting rid of it will somehow make things more accesssible, it won't. It'll open the door to in the case of CAPTCHAS hordes of spam. Imagine a site that's laid out nicely, headings and so on, flooded with spam comments and not having a way to stop them, and not enough moderators to deal with them? I've been on sites where that happened, it is not pleasant to wade through literaly thousands of threads of spam to get what you want, or virus links, or porn ads, or..insert spam here.

What would I do? Hmm...

If was PM of my country I'd work on trade deals to give Europe two fingers and prove to them we don't really need Brussels teling us what to do. I'd work on a program of trade deals with our Commonwealth partners and trade within that to strengthen relations with all those members, since Europe is not the only rading partner we have. I'd consult on building on land in the South of England and the open spaces there instead of cramming all the homs and new developments in the North. I'd also consult on legislation to incentivize, not force, property developers and sub contracted companies not to build on flood plains because...well...reasons?

I'd have a UK first approach to Covid with representatives from all four nations, and have the delegates meet in a central, neutral location as well to avoid the claims of London-centrism.

I'd give the North of England a devolved government, and leave it up to them to sort their own messes out.

I've not even considered accessibility yet, that's way, way down my list of things if I was in number 10.

I'd work with the Chancellor, asuming I have a majority in Parliment, to have a cross party response to national issues, while not acoalition government, everyone would have a say. If I could work with Labour, the Greens, SNP, Tories, etc so everyone's views are considered in a cross party fashion, I'd be willing to work wih that. Even UKIP or the Brexit party, provided they understand their views would be as equally represented as other views.

Oh and I'd fight and claw to get big tech to pay their fucking taxes. Actualy, I'd try to persuade big business/rich to pay their taxes.

If I was POTUS?

Electoral reform first off, I'd seek to, if I had a majority in both Houses, I'd seek an end to the two party system. Yes, there's more candidates than just Republican/Democrat but.

Next up I'd try and reform the mdea awyay from biased political party afiliated lines, I'd set up a state owned, mandated neutral television and radio broadcaster that'd be mandated to be neutral in all issues and report things objectively without bias.

Then once those are done, halt the national debt growth.

Then repeal the ADA and in its place, craft something more suited for 2020. Same for the DMCA, to. Scrap that, modernize it.
