I'm confused as to how having a GUI with standard controls would be less snappy than having something like a single window with your own keyboard hook. It's just two ways of getting to the same destination. I understand preference enters into that, and if that's what this is, fair enough, but I'm' struggling to see how one would be more snappy than the other. I assume you're using C# because of post 3's exception. Would you just create a windows form with one window and just intercept any keyboard activity going to it?
