I don't think you should make the windows key play a sound though, as it's going to play it and then open the start menu, unless you find a way to do a lock of some kind and only make the program exit when a key combination is pressed, just like the input help kind of thing in NVDA
A timer for multiple key presses would be good, so for example, if the timer has elapsed and you have only pressed the key once, pressing it again would speak the letter again, otherwise it would speak the word
By the way these ambiences are cool
