Google Assistant Issue

I have a Google Android Smartphone. I have an issue with the Google Assistant. It somehow accesses deleted contacts. For example, I delete a contact, say Hey Google, and say Call contact name. Google Assistant will still access this contact despite it being deleted from my phone and google account. I have tried everything I can think of, but nothing is working. The only way I can think of is to reset the phone to factory settings. That is a bit too extreme. Any help would be appreciated in solving the issue. Thank you!
