It's actually quite easy, but I'll only recommend to do that, if you don't already use Alexa for any important stuff.
You have to register your account to an US address, and change the region to one of the states in the US. Then it'll work. That will open up for purchasing US content, and visa cards are supported, so you don't need a US credit card if you have visa.
