Re: 2MB Game engine in the works -- any beta testers?

Hi guys.
For anyone who isn't subscribed to the 2mb news letter, here is an update that they sent
Welcome back to another late edition of the 2MB newsletter! It's not going to be a trend, we promise!

First of all, remember that this is not spam. You signed up to this newsletter while purchasing or downloading a product from us in the past. If you don't want to receive any more of our lovely newsletters there's always an unsubscribe link at the bottom, but we'll terribly miss you.

Now that that's out of the way, On to the news!

## Our game engine is still coming!

Our game engine we announced in December has been delayed, but it's still coming. For anyone who hasn't heard about the game engine, it's basically going to be a cross platform engine that allows you to write in lua and compile the finished product into a full game to be distributed. It will have some other advanced features, such as the ability to add custom c++ code as well. For anyone who would like to beta test the engine after it is ready, please email us at michael@2mb.solutions and we'll add you to the list. If you have already done so we still have your email, so no need to do so again.

## Server move

We have recently moved server locations to a coop hosting organization in California. This is part of why our game engine has been delayed. That being said, if you see any issues please let us know. The server move involved moving the server from one location to another, so many things internally have changed. Btw, for the curious, a coop hosting organization is one that is owned and run by the members. It's really quite great.

## Code Dungeon comes to linux

We're happy to announce that we've been working with stealcase, maker of Code Dungeon, to help get linux compatability working on his game. It's not quite there yet, but it's moving along. You can get [Code Dungeon at this link](stealcase.itch.io/codedungeon). In short, Code Dungeon is a randomly generated roguelike game where you must escape a dungeon of four increasingly difficult floors.

## We're happy to announce 2MB Patron!

After a few false starts, 2MB Patron is finally arriving! 2MB Patron is a subscription service similar to Patreon where you can subscribe to 2MB and gain perks in return. You can find more information on [2MB Patron here](2mb.games/product/2mb-patron/) but in short, depending what tier you subscribe to, you can gain perks such as a patron-only forum, sneak peeks at upcoming games, devlog information, free games, and more! Do note that not everything for 2MB Patron is up and running yet, but that which is is great, and if anything is based monthly we will give access to all the perks for each month you subscribed after they are ready.

## Site redesign

We have redesigned our site to hopefully be easier to navigate. Now you can actually get to the sub-menus on the top bar, and we actually have links to our products in the menu. Check out the [2MB Games website](2mb.games) and let us know what you think!

## From Michael

I've been working hard on the website and the game engine over the last several weeks, and I'm excited to share it all with you. If you have any questions about the updates above you can get in touch at michael@2mb.solutions. I'll be glad to get it all up and running and thanks for reading!

## From Billy

I've been working on my own projects recently, and I'd like to let you all know about them. First of all, I've been doing classes about different technology topics on the stormux server. I've taught a class on simple bash, and tintin scripting so far, and have several plans for more classes. You can learn about new courses through this newsletter, or by subscribing to the [stormux list](stormux.groups.io). You can also purchase access to recordings of previous courses at the [stormux ko-fi shop](ko-fi.com/stormux). The next class will be March 4, at 2:00 PM eastern time. It will be about regular expressions and will be partly taught by Michael as well. Because of the depth of this class, it will cost $25 USD to join, but patrons of the [stormux patreon](patreon.com/stormux) at the $5 tier or higher will get access for free. You can also sign up on the [stormux ko-fi](ko-fi.com/stormux) at $5 or more and gain access as well. In addition, I've been working on tintin-rsgames, an rs games client written in tintin, and meant to be played in the console. You can check out [tintin rs games here](gitlab.com/stormdragon2976/tintin-rsgames) and let me know what you think! I've also been working on BASHtml, a project to make a mostly static blog using bash. Check [BASHtml out here](gitlab.com/stormdragon2976/bashtml). Wow, I've been busy! If you have any questions about the newsletter or discussion you can get in touch at storm_dra...@linux-a11y.org.

Thanks all for reading! We'll be back soon!

Michael and Billy, 2MB.

P.S. Again, this is not spam. You signed up to this list while purchasing or downloading a product from 2MB, and if you don't like our content you can unsubscribe below. We'll terribly miss you, though.
