use the surface camera to see where you can jump to. TO do this, hold in g, and use your arrow keys. The high-pitched tone means there's empty space and the beep means there's a wall/floor there. You will always land right above a wall square when you jump, so your objective is to aim your jumps so that they land on higher platforms if you want to jump higher.
