Not sure if this means the update is already out, or if it is going to come out soon but hasn't been submitted to Apple yet. That tweet was part of a conversation and I didn't read the whole thing.
as for bugs, I have found some more:
If you buy the banjo and try to replace the frying pan with it in endless mode, it instead replaces your second long range weapon. So you still have the frying pan but now only have 1 gun, and can't switch to the banjo. You have to go back in and put it back to the way it was so you have 2 long range weapons and the frying pan.
The game seems to crash frequently in endless mode when too many powerful zombies are roming around. Now that I'm getting better at endless mode, this is really! annoying. But hopefully it'll get squashed.
As for the riot gear zombies, you can tell when their shield is up as opposed to when it is down, because when the shield is up, you can hear his groans becoming very reverberant, and when he puts the shield down, I think you can hear the shield falling to the ground. I also think it takes him a few seconds to raise the shield, so you can give him a few shots before he raises his shield.
Also I have a suspicion that if you accidentally collect a diamond on endless mode, you will stop collecting coins as well and you have to restart the app to start collecting coins again. I haven't tested for this but it seems to be the case, as sometimes I stop collecting coins for no reason that I can see. So now I avoid diamonds which isn't at all fun. I can't wait until I actiually start collecting some so I can upgrade my micro smg to level 4! That upgrade costs 5 diamonds, and with the amount of diamonds I pass up on endless mode, I'm sure I could get 5 in a fairly short amount o f time. I wonder how high weapons can be upgraded, and if the lower weapons such as the revolver are really necessary once you start getting better weapons like the hunting rifle and start upgrading them.
