I believe from my experimentation you need to repopulate the map with zombies. I'm not sure if the zombies will stay on the old map, so you might be best starting from a blank slate each time.

So,

remove all zombies on old map
move to new map
add new zombies

Not particularly elegant, I know, but scripts aren't supposed to look elegant haha.

And I don't think your ally would follow you, but I can't be sure. You could try it. Or if not, try jumping the ally to your location after changing maps.
