Not sure why controls are unlabeled in JAWS, they read fine in NVDA, as long as there's text in the message field, otherwise I only see the entry and review text fields when tabbing. Selecting the blind contact list during installation might help, but I doubt it would fix your problem; as far as I know it only lists whether a contact is online or on mobile so that a screen reader reads it.
