Mr Perceptive-

Looked at the Meridan forum thread and agree totally with void's
statement:

"I don't have experience with Meridian on Big Ben, but I've tried
several 'high-end' CD-Transports and DAC's with the Big Ben. With most
transports it offered a good improvement (especially with bad
transports). However with the best transports the sound got
significantly degraded by the Big Ben. Maybe it's better to solve
problems at the source, or we need a clock/reclocker of even better
quality (I guess with lower phase noise)."

In my system, used with a low jitter source the Big Ben(BB) degrades
performance. Soundstage and dynamics are reduced.

To my knowledge there are no published reports with measurement of the
BB confirming it's jitter reducing ability.

The BB use a cheap noisy SMPS. Even if you upgrade(I've modified a
number of them for people on the TacT forum) this supply, the BB still
does nothing to improve performance of quality digital source.

Many TacT user who purchased BBs, have sold them after upgrading the
PSU in their RCS.

If you need a proven jitter reduction unit(read the sterophile review),
look for a used Genesis Digital Lens, it has an audiophile grade linear
PSU and unlike the BB, it has a remote to switch digital inputs.

If your DAC is sensitive to jitter, take a look at the Lavry Blue, it
has a buffered input.

Aloha,

Dan
