I'm granted a newbie at the ripping and encoding game and probably am
not answering answering the more involved questions brought up here
however..

Using EAC and ripping the DTS audio files on all my DTS audio discs
like Steely Dans' Gaucho and Stings' Brand New Day I simply have EAC
rip then encode the resultant wav in flac and have the SB2 play them
utilizing the SPDIF output. My receivers recognise the resultant
streams as DTS and they seem to sound the same as the original DTS CD.
Is it not logical to have most other "oddball" streams encoded in Flac
then have the SB2 decode that leaving the output stream to be decoded
by the receiver or preamp? Or is lossless flac not really lossless? A
direct comparison sounds perfect to me. Granted its a bit of a Kludge
but it works and I've done much more convoluted workarounds when
presented with a problem.
