Especially bearing in mind no 24 bit DAC I'm aware of achieves 24 bits of actual performance at the analogue output. You're lucky in most cases to get 18 bits of actual analogue resolution, so the likelihood is you'll get losses creeping in way before the full 8 bits of shifting. Andy. -- Andrew L.
