A little hard to do the swapping for a blind test since it's firmware
but...  I did have another person listen with me to make sure I wasn't
the only one hearing differences.  The other person didn't know the
firmware version...  and agreed with my conclusion.  

I'll have to agree that it's all up to the individual on what you hear.
I'm sure it will vary from individual to individual.
