General consensus is the Panasonic class D amps sound better than the JVC's with direct digital input, because the Panny receiver does not convert the input signal to analog but sends the digital audio direct to the amp chip[1]. The JVC's sound better with (high quality) analog input as the digital input is run though the JVC's DAC before amplification. So the Panny's are "special" for having an all digital signal path. Whether or not it sounds right for a given listener is a matter of taste. _Dan [1]The signal is kept in the digital domain until the gain stages which are digitally manipulated -- dwc ------------------------------------------------------------------------ dwc's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1892 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=18704 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
