I know I was surprised to hear a difference - I only changed the supply because I had rehoused the unit and wanted it all in one box to match my other units (Copland). Still, I wouldn't go back now - perhaps it's bringing everything close together with shorter, thicker leads since it's DC? Who knows, I'm not one for pseudo science (I have a degree in Applied Physics), it just sounds better for whatever reason.
