I have now swapped the digital cable on the squeezebox from a Supra Trico to the cheesy cable mentioned above. The sound quality is not bad at all. Clearly better than the analog output, but not up to the quality of my regular cable (A Supra Trico - not to expensive, nice overall sound quality). Tom PS.
