To be frank I can't fathom what the purpose of the ELP turntable is. It
seems to me like a very clever technological achievement with no
practical application. A bit like Concorde.

The PT is a superb deck. (I happen to use a Linn LP12 myself, but let's
not have a cat-fight over that!). I also use an M-Audio 2496 for my LP
transfers; it's a good card.

The obvious track splitter to try is CD Wave (http://www.cdwave.com).
