I just snagged an old [oh, sorry, I guess I mean "vintage!"] Onkyo M-5150 power amp on eBay. I think this was an Asian-market-only model that would fit between the 5140 and 5160 in the range of products that actually made it to the rest of the world. This amp doesn't have a sensitivity adjustment, and needless to say I have little hope of finding a manual for a 20 year old piece of gear. Am I likely to get away with feeding it directly from the Squeezebox's analog outs?
I have no idea what kind of RMS voltages late '80s preamps would have put out compared to the SB3's 2V. I hope this amp is in good shape, I've heard its big and little siblings and my recollection is that they were very good. -- tls ------------------------------------------------------------------------ tls's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3411 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=20095 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
