If your goal is better sound than your current setup, then you can only
try it out and either return it (30 day return period) or sell it
(assuming you have the unit modded). Or forget it altogether. It's a
_lot_ of work ripping a large library, it can be a PITA getting it set
up on a network, and the software is only so-so. If you use a stock
unit, you'll definitely want to replace the crappy power supply.

If your goal is the convenience and flexibility of a PC based system,
with maybe not-quite-as-good, maybe as-good, maybe better (hard to tell
you which) sound than your current setup, then the answer is a resound
'YES, get a Squeezebox'. They're cheap, can be modded for better
sound, and the software, as clunky as it is, is more convenient and
more flexible than playing individual CDs. Get the Sqeezebox, listen
to it stock (with a better power supply), and then get it modded if you
like it.
