Or forget it altogether. It's a _lot_ of work ripping a large library, it can be a PITA getting it set up on a network, and the software is only so-so. If you use a stock unit, you'll definitely want to replace the crappy power supply.
If your goal is the convenience and flexibility of a PC based system, with maybe not-quite-as-good, maybe as-good, maybe better (hard to tell you which) sound than your current setup, then the answer is a resound 'YES, get a Squeezebox'. They're cheap, can be modded for better sound, and the software, as clunky as it is, is more convenient and more flexible than playing individual CDs.
