Well removing the op amp isn't that hard. You can do it without soldering at all. The output opamp (NJM2041) is a surface mount part but there is a reasonable amount of space between the leads. I've been able to clip the leads of the op amp with some small wire cutters. Typically I just cut the leads on one side and then bend the op amp back and forth until the leads on the other side break.
