Only Euro/UK models come with the ferrite. Our lab found it was not needed for conducted emissions with the US power supply (Europe has different limits, plus the 230V supplies are a different design). The one he's using here looks very similar to our Euro one. I would caution that ferrite filters can under some circumstances _increase_ noise by creating a resonance that wasn't there before, or transfer conducted noise into radiated energy and vice versa.
