Agree with the Glenn Gould playing Goldberg Variations. This is the
music that made me "get" Bach. However, do try to get the anniversary
edition called "A State of Wonder". It is the most lovingly remastered
and includes both the legendary 1955 mono recording that rocked the
world and the 1981 recording that ended up to be his last recording
before his death. Also includes a full disc of interview with Tim
Page.

The DVD (http://tinyurl.com/8qmv4 also highly recommended. You would
never have seen anyone playing a piano like Glenn did.

If you like Jazz solo, I would recommend japanese pianist Makoto Ozone
- A Wizard of Ozone. Very nice jazz playing but hard to find.

Anything by Gene Harris is also highly recommended, especially his
playing with bassist Ray Brown. Highly recommended is Ray Brown -
Soular Energy, especially the SACD.
