I bring it up because I see some similarities between the 2 devices. I agree thay are not the same type but both are digital in nature. I agree mostly that modelling cannot totally represent reality. I have not a/b the ps so I cannot talk with authority, but I suspect a well designed smps will work as well as a linear one. Comparing the wallwart to almost anything will result in improvment IMO. Bottom line is the enjoyment from modding and listening is what is fun to me.
