Spades/bananas are the most convenient. But bare wire should sound the best, until it oxidises. I've now tinned mine with some silver solder at the amp end, which comes close to the convenience of spades, and left them bare at the speaker end. If I ever move things, I'll only disconnect it at the amp end. I also used a socket to gently twist the binding posts beyond finger tight to make as good a connection as possible.
