After the DAC, I found that upgrading the analog ICs was the next biggest improvement. And a very noticable improvement imo.
I first changed out to Audioquest Vipers (improvement), then to Audioquest King Cobras (big improvement). More definition and space around instruments, better bass control and clarity, more pleasing highs, more precise soundstage.
