Genuine reclocking (of the type implemented by the Benchmark DAC1) does indeed *eliminate* the jitter on the incoming signal - and then of course replaces it with the characteristic jitter of the receiver's clock. The point here is that using such a DAC renders the jitter on the incoming signal irrelevant, which means as long as you don't get data errors it doesn't matter what cable you use.
