If you want to hear what happens when a portion of the Slimserver/SB chain can't keep up, turn on your microwave. Wireless interference will block the transmission of data to the SB. Luckily it has a big buffer so unless the interference is very long term, no effect whatsoever will be heard. Eventually the buffer will drain, in which case the music will stop. The SB will not try to guess (like a CDP) and it won't degrade the quality, it will just stop. So you can be sure that if you can hear anything, it's the right thing.
