Here are my assesments:

The SB3's bass performance has indeed been enhanced. I find bass much
more tuneful, tighter. Very musical.

Midrange performance is comparable to my earlier supply. Buttery smooth
with very convincing portrayal of female vocals. Nice texture around
percussive instruments.

Highs are extended but not fatiguing at all. You only find high-end
extension on recordings that have it. The subtle sound of triangles are
nicely reproduced.

The depth on the first part of Andreas Vollenweider's Caverna Magica
was realistically reproduced.

I have found the SB3 is now less forgiving of bad recordings. If the
recording has faults they will be evident on the SB3. On the same
token, high bitrate MP3s of good recordings still sound decent.

In all, a worthwhile upgrade to the stock switcher. I am now a
believer!
