I just meant his article, and feel your short explanation did a better job arguing the point than his article. Most aren't shielded, but on the other hand most audiophiles recommend not laying them on synthetic carpet either. By no means do I recommend spending a lot, just experimenting. I use the cat5 braid currently, and have tried extension cord/monster cable/lamp cord, and on my to do list is single conductor solid core copper with enamel insulation and silver in air/teflon dielectric.
