I am biased since I had another Nait 2 for many many years, it thing
just keeps ticking and ticking and is still running fine.

The Nait is the kind of amp that you buy and can keep enjoying for
decades. It is somewhat forward sounding and has excellent PRAT. But
needs efficient speakers, my infamously inefficient LS3/5A is a poor
match the A-1 at 88dB/W works better with the Nait.

The KEF you mentioned should match well, but my opinion is the Nait
deserves better speakers. In fact, The Absolute Sound once recommended
one of their systems matching the Nait 5i with a pair of the Wilson
Audio Sophia.

You do need to get the (resonably priced) NACA5 speaker cables. Naim
does extensive testing and according you will be wasting your time
trying exotic cables.

Traditionally Naim works well with Epos, Neat, Rega, and the new Naim
Arivas should be a good match.

You should visit http://forums.naim-audio.com and ask lots of
questions. The inmates there are hard core nuts about their Naims and
will answer any questions you throw at them.
