Even if you can hear it, how many times can you play it before
the cartridge grooves thru like a plow and filters the
ultra sonic frequencies forever?

I assume that P Floding is talking about musical signals
that contribute to the sound, and not just frequencies
from pops and surface dirt.

I'm too old to care much about signals over 20kHz.
I could believe that there are inter modulation distortions
that have impact in the audible range.
