I am not too knowledgable about electronics so I am seeking advise. I
have taken the plunge and bought myself a Power-one HB5-3/OVP-A and I
am now ready to connect leads etc to it.

I sought the advice of an eletrician who will help me put it all
together. However, he offered me an alternative which was a power
supply straight out of a computer. He believes that this would provide
a ripple free 5 volts linear power. This seems a lot easier to do as it
is already wired up, in a box and has a fan. Therefore why has this not
been recommended in this or earlier threads. Is there some reason why I
should not use a PC power supply unit?
