Any phase differences in removing the opamp? Some people use firmware v15 after doing that mod, presumably getting them back to 'correct' absolute phase. Also, there is a low pass filter removed in the procedure- not that I know the consequences.
For other reasons (the tumor like cap hanging off the rear), Vinnie of Red Wine is switching to a BB opa2604 opamp replacement for SB3. I'd like to hear this new mod, and wonder if it would make more sense to try- before completely removing.
