Parts Express (www.partsexpress.com) has a Behringer Reference power amp on special for $170 right now. That'd fit ito you plan for some smple line level pre-amp or stepped attenuators.
It's 160w/c into 8 ohms. not sure how audiophile grade. Behrigner is mid-grade pro stuff for small studios.
