I have already posted in the beginner's forum, but have no definite answers so I thought I'd try my luck here.
I'd like to know if it's possible to set the squeezebox to output only 16-bit/44.1kHz digital signals. I will be playing FLACs and MP3s, and although I think the FLACs should be output at 16-bit/44.1kHz, I've been told that MP3s are output at 24-bit/48kHz. The thing is, I've got a Perpetual Technologies P1A interpolation engine in line. The thing has some serious hardware to convert a 16-bit signal to a 24-bit one, and also, you have to set the input frequency on it manualy - if I couldn't set the squeezebox to output the same thing all the time, I'd be up off of the sofa with every new album and that kind of defeats the object of having one in the first place. Would setting the server to stream everything as a WAV sort this out? -- mark___h ------------------------------------------------------------------------ mark___h's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5244 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=23524 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
