You have to read more carefully.
That a variable exists does NOT mean that it alone must be
responsible.

A/B, traditionally, implies reasonably quick switching and the rest of
the system to be "unaltered" (not as easy as it sounds). As I explained
before, my testing does not comply with those criteria. In fact, some of
my choices for my system, such as using TosLINK instead of coaxial,
sounds superficially "worse" (less impressive) in a traditional A/B,
but better in the long run.

I also explained why I don't think A/B is always very useful.
