Ye olde y-connectors...

Unfortunately, the sub I'll most likely get has a mono input, which
means I need to join the channels in some other fashion than simply
using a y-connector. Ys are good for splitting, not so good for
joining.

I forgot to mention one other plus for the new receiver -- it has one
of those electronic volume controls -- you know, the kind with the knob
that turns infinitely. Right now, my boys sometimes fiddle with the
volume knob when the stereo is off. I have to remember to always check
its position before I turn the unit on, lest I be showered with speaker
fragments.
