My brand new SB3 arrived today and is now up and running. I am using it with a very high quality outboard DAC.
Is the received wisdom here that upgrading the power supply for the Squeezebox will improve the sound when used with an outboard DAC? Also, I notice here that FLAC is transcoded natively by the Squeezebox. Any noticeable difference in sound quality between ALAC, WMAL (I've got both) and FLAC? Or is this just an issue for the host computer which has to bear the extra load of transcoding?
