The Eastsound is noticably better as a transport. I am also a network administrator, and I know about all of the little audiophile tricks to get good sound out of a computer system. With the squeezebox being electrically seperate from the computer you would assume that it should be just as good. Whatever the reason, this is not the case. Bass is much better defined on the Eastsound and there is more clarity overall.
Now, I still use my Squeezebox a lot of the time as it is one hell of a fun toy... but until I address these issues I will be sticking with my Eastsound for critical listening.
