There's been (many) other threads covering this very topic. My thoughts, briefly, are that an "audiophile" SB3 would cost well over $1000. Anything less, and it won't be considered "high-end" enough. Anyone not already satisfied with the SB3 and using an external DAC is probably not going to be satisfied by a $500 SB. Maybe that's just my opinion, though.
