Hmm.  You might try a steady tone rather than a sweep, because the
positions of the nodes change as the frequency changes.  Are you sure
the nodes are gone with RC, and not just moved around?  Thing is, I
don't see how the laws of physics would allow them to be really gone -
standing waves are standing waves - but maybe I'm missing something...
