I was thinking about this new product some more. I think, in terms of absolute sales, it won't be a best-seller. But, and this is a big but, it is a statement product. The Transporter (even the name alone) is a buzz-grabbing, eye-catching, head-turning, whopper of a statement product. I think it is a very clever marketing move on the part of Sean and the gang to bring more attention to the SqueezeBox, itself. Sure, audiophiles will drool all over their monitors wishing they had a Transporter. In the end, those audiophiles and other techies (like the rufus from the Mac vs. PC ads), will say, hey, I can't afford that, but the SB3 is pretty dope and a hell of a lot cheaper. Yep, I must admit, I think I was wrong in doubting the wisdom of producing an audiophile-approved SqueezeBox. There's something to this thing.
