The problem here is sound quality is not on a linear scale. Further it gets exponetially expensive to move closer to the original sound of the instruments (say a piano) heard in an optimum environment (say the studio) - but from a recorded source in a random environment. In other words you might get 90% there for $100 but 99% might costs you $10,000 (including room and audio conditioning). Now I am guessing that your current set up is something like 95% (on my scale!) given the nice quality of those Onkyos therefore if you could move to say 98% with the transporter you have to ask yourself...how much is that 3% worth to you. Personally, I have little doubt you will notice an improvement but no one can answer the "how much better" question accurately at this point. -- ajmitchell Last FM: http://www.last.fm/user/ajmitchell/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ajmitchell's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=800 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=25783 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
